I am an experienced VB, C# and ASP.NET developer with a wide range of experience - from litigation support software and web data collection and aggregation to financial services applications including credit, check, ACH and debit gateway authoring.
For the past eleven years, I have been employed full time by a Fortune-500 financial services firm, where my daily responsibilities include troubleshooting and repair of line-of-business VB, ASP, C# and ASP.NET applications, web services and web sites. For the first several years here I was a green field developer, coding multi-tier internal systems and software end-to-end. Typical projects included credit card and ACH gateways, consumer IVR bill payment systems and consumer bill payment web sites. My current troubleshooting role evolved as our company grew and I found a niche I enjoy, with challenging short-term projects.
In addition to the languages mentioned above, I am reasonably competent (i.e, can get the job done but don't consider myself an expert) in MS SQL, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML and MS Access. To the extent these skills are necessary for your project, I would prefer they be incidental to the project rather than the primary focus. You will get more for your money by hiring an expert in these areas if that is what you need.
