I learned to write direct mail sales letters throught the correspondence course offered by the American Writers and Artists Institute, Inc. (AWAI), a Florida, USA - based company.
 
In the basic copywriting course, I’ve learned the fundamental rules of selling, the basic elements of a direct mail sales package, the rules for power writing, the use of emotions and the difference between features and benefits and how to use it to write powerful sales letters.
 
I completed an 8-page practice sales, along with lift note, gate for premium, testimonials and order device,  for a language learning program under the basic copywriting course. It was critiqued by AWAI member-writers and I revised it based on their feedback.
 
In the Masters course, I’ve learned advanced copywriting techniques that master copywriters use to write mega-successful sales letters that truly deliver. These are the time-proven techniques to increase response rates and boost sales. 
 
I completed the first potentially paid assignment, an 8-page sales letter for INTERNATIONAL LIVING magazine, also complete with envelope copy, lift note, gate, testimonials and order device, for the masters course. Sample of my work is attached.

As a natural consequence to writing the practice sales letter, I've also mastered research especially online research, and kept my editing and proofreading skills honed.
