After 1 month on this job, we were happy to give Nina a raise, however were trying to cut back on hours to save on down time. Nina did not take kindly to this, and suggested that we had caused her to feel sorry for herself, even though I gave her great feedback on oDesk, as well as through her email. We agreed to continue on the same schedule, but required that she be working actively the whole time. Even with this, she worked only that day and then didn't show up for her next shift - she didn't email, text, or in any way let anyone know she wouldn't be working. We made it clear that for this position, lack of communication would be grounds for ending the assignment. When she finally contacted us, she was not apologetic about missing the shift and causing someone else to catch up on her missed work. I was very happy with Nina's work and responsiveness during her first month, and I am very disappointed that the assignment is ending this way. I think she works well on her own, but does not like to be held accountable for her work hours or productivity.
