C, C+, FORTRAN, HTML/XML/CSS, Java/Javascript, LINUX and UNIX shell scripting, and Pearl. I'm familiar with the entire Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flex 2, and Crystal Reports. Most recently I was the Lead Software Engineer for a proprietary kiosk-based multimedia distribution and sales project.
I have been involved in small business in every role from commission salesman through owner. For over a decade I was a contract analyst for joint Army/Air Force development efforts where I produced over a dozen technical reports for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. During that period I was instrumental in bringing the latest is CAD systems to the USAF analysis community.
I've been a musician, sometimes professionally, since I was 10 years old currently in the local community band. I've been a blue water sailor (with a tour in Vietnam). I've even been an Audubon Society bird watcher and a card-carrying UFO
investigator.
All of this naturally takes time so I'm possibly one of the more experienced providers available on oDesk. Now approaching retirement age I would much rather stay active so I am looking to turn my experience to your advantage. Please don't think I'm "over qualified" for your needs, I'm not even sure exactly what that might mean.
