Using this application, mobile users in USA can update themselves about latest happening in Football league matches played in USA during a particular season. This application connects to a live server and fetches latest information on football matches. Some of the most prominent features are:
Schedule/Score, Standings, Teams, Players, Championships, Detailed match summary etc. Application covers all divisions/leagues/teams.
The objective of this application is to allow users to check their emails using mobile phones from anywhere. Users can send/receive emails. POP/SMTP protocols have been implemented to achieve the purpose.
Other features are send/receive SMS, save/edit/delete notes and contacts.
This platform is fully responsible for receiving the mobile requests (both GPRS and SMS/MMS based), processing the request and final delivery of content on mobile handset. A full-fledged CMS to manage all content (binary as well as OTA e.g. wallpapers, java games and ringtones) is a part of this platform.
Mobile originated (MO) message is routed to the platform by telecom operator gateway and then platform processes the MO according to the business logic.
This was a difficult assignment - utilising web service calls from a blackberry and testing GPS functionality developd remotely using JDE on a local device is not simple. As buyer, I spent a little more time testing the software and trying to figure out the reason for some bugs thn I would have liked. This was a learning curve for me and Achint was helpful. As I wanted control of the source code, I had to be able to take delivery of code, build it, sign it using RIM keys and deploy the application. Bugs arose in many areas but very few related to the code written by Achint. Issues arose in relation to how well RIM api calls worked , how deployment over the air of .jad files can run into difficulties, how configuration of the device can impact etc. We worked through these problems together and I am very happy with the final product developed. Achint is a strong competent programmer and any time we hit a difficulty, he researched and found a solution. His communication skills are very good and he carried out the work in a timely manner. The assignment was completed within budget and I paid Achint a bonus also.
