Recently I became increasingly fond of JavaScript. What attracts me most is that this language can turn static web page into a full-fledged application which functionality rivals that of a desktop application while retaining the advantages of web applications. My language of choice for a serverside development is Ruby. I have experience of development not only with Ruby on Rails, but also with Merb, numerous Active Record alternatives, such as DataMapper and SeQueL.
I've spent five years writing applications in Java. I value its strict, almost mathematical logic, but I've always been taken aback by its bulkiness and tons of paperwork.
I've taken advantage of agile development methodologies (scrum and eXtreme Programming) in my daily practice.
