Wrote Microsoft Access Programs to meet customer specs. Applications ranged from membership databases, insurance cost analysis, and vehicle parts and maintenance. Integrated Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft word through VBA. Wrote VBA code as needed for applications.
Technical Consultant - 1999 to 2001
Learned MicroStation, a high-end CAD package along with Axiom’s support products for MicroStation. Became first-line of phone, fax and email Technical Support for customers who paid for product maintenance, passed complicated and detailed support calls to the Director of Technical Support. Maintained paperwork and departmental logs.
Director of Technical Support - 2001 to 2004
Previous Department Director left and was put into a position of running the department until additional Technical Consultants could be hired. Transitioned a two-man position into a one-man task. Also increased customer satisfaction in the process – was promoted to Director of Technical Support based on diligence, attention to detail and efficiency. Became expertly proficient with MicroStation the Axiom software packages. Learned jargon for specific CAD usages in order to be able to converse with customers from a wide variety of divergent industries. Spoke directly with and gave Technical Advice to CAD professionals including Engineers, Draftsmen and other CAD professionals who used MicroStation as their livelihood. Assisted customers and staff who had problems using the Axiom software and/or needed training on product usage. Also responsible to make recommendations for product enhancements. Verified bugs reported by customers and attempted to find workarounds for the customer. Worked directly with the Programming Department to resolve the bugs. Delegated paperwork and logs to clerical staff
Responsible to develop lesson plans, deliver lectures, administer examinations, tutor, and grade progress for students enrolled in Algebra and Algebra & Trigonometry.
Functioned as Nurse in hospital ward in Bethesda, Maryland. Became equivalent of Emergency Medical Technician II. Learned and practiced combat readiness, including first aid, minor surgery, triage and performing field diagnosis and treatment. Involved in intricate laboratory procedures, specializing in Hematology. Responsible for laboratory procedures and setup of new NavalHospital at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Became supervisor of Hematology laboratory at new hospital. Rotated throughout all laboratory departments including Bacteriology, Chemistry, and Blood Bank during duty hours.
