Project Name: UnistretchThis project involved development of software to drive a microcontroller device. The microcontroller was developed using a PLC. Typically a work piece (cloth) has to be tested using a testing machine. The fabric is fixed between the 2 jaws of the machine. The machine (Tensile strength tester) extends the fabric to perform the following tests: Strip Strength Lea Skien Strength. Seam Slippage. Tear Test Module. Button / Snap pull Test. peel bond Strength. Zipper Strength.
The idea is to determine the various physical properties of fabric and garments. * Developed an RS232 routine in VB/VB.net with MS Access/SQL server DB * The program extends the grappler of the testing machine and measures the strength of the peel (work piece). The parametrs that were captured were tensile strength, peeling length, peeling force. * The program was designed using American Standards for Textile manufacturing (ASTM) and British Standards for Textile Manufacturing (BSTM) * Generating Peeled graphs using Crystal Reports.
