Nida is a kind and sweet person who was easy to get along with. This was only a trial. There were a little too many errors in the samples received and the writing was of a weak style. I wish she had communicated with me more. 2 articles were completed 2 weeks late but she had a good explanation which I accepted as valid. Although I did promise a guide on how to upload articles and videos into Wordpress, Nida never told me she didn't know how to do it. I assumed she did. She only said so after 4 weeks of starting the articles. This is not an issue with me though. All the other writers communicated with me at all times, and brought up things quickly. I never knew what was up with Nida, and she never updated me on her writing, except once to tell me she went on a holiday and would send the articles late after which I never heard from her again. My site is new and people are starting to arrive and I needed these articles faster. This is slowing me down. I don't doubt she is an excellent writer though but I think this particular assignement may not have been suited for her so I will not say she is a bad writer.
I should have seen this one coming. I originally signed on to do 5 articles for Regis Helaine and after they were submitted (edited and re-edited) I realized I had never been officially hired on Odesk. I then had to run after him (through Skype and emails) for 1 month before I got my payment. After I got paid (and hired) he said he wanted to continue working with me and from here on payments would be quicker. I agreed (my second mistake) and delivered 7 articles on topics like Namaste Drug Treatment (for which there are no online resources) and other vague article titles. I got asked to edit them and re-submitted them. Then I got no response for a week after which I got an email saying one of them was plagiarized. I looked through Google and could not figure out how he could say that since I didn't see similarities. Then I realized he meant that the headings for an article on cancer had words like Stage 1, Stage 2 in them, which are universally known stages of cancer. I changed the headings and re-submitted it. 2 weeks or so later, I have only received payment for one article. Funnily, it's the one he said was plagiarized. He now says the other 6 are un-usable. How so? They haven't been edited properly. Really? But I edited them based on the exact requirements I got. Multiple times. I even re-wrote one on Surgical Complications on Shoulder Surgery completely. Mr. Helaine thinks that my asking him to clarify why I wasn't getting paid through email/Skype is harassment. He also thinks that when I say, "Screw it, I'm done with this. Please close this assignment". I'm using unprofessional language (I believe his exact response to that was "shove off"). My suggestion is you not work with him. He makes you run around like crazy and no amount of money is worth the trouble. He will ask for a minimum of 3 edits and will still remain unhappy. If he does use your articles, you will need to run around after him for 2-3 weeks to get your money. Definitely the worst client I have worked in a long time, and that includes one who said he couldn't afford to pay me.
