Working with Vladimir was a disastrous development experience. Vladimir is a very poor communicator. He would promise to send me an update on a particular day, and then fail to. I would have to chase him up each time in order to extract updates from him. He would also promise to work on my project on a particular day, and then when he was not appearing online, someone chased him up, and he said that he had decided to work on a different project that day, without informing me. On one occasion he stopped working on the project because he came across a problem that he couldn't solve. However, he did not contact me to inform me that he'd encountered a problem that he couldn't solve; he just ceased work on the project. I only discovered that he had stopped work on the project when I chased him up. Technically Vladimir struggled considerably with the project. I had to ask a more senior developer to help him out. He worked extremely slowly. The only reason that I did not end the assignment earlier was that he was in the middle of a project, and I thought that it would be easier to carry on with him, rather than find a new person. Worst of all, one day Vladimir disappeared, and never got in touch again. Leo Ivanischev, his manager at Development Mill, who was normally very responsive, and good about tracking Vladimir down, also disappeared. Shortly after they both disappeared, I got an email from Leo saying that Development Mill had had problems with their internet connection. I didn't see Leo online for another 4 weeks. Vladimir never got in touch. Needless to say, I would not recommend working with Vladimir, or Development Mill again.
