Forced into learning corel 8 it was the only application my employer had for me to meet his design demands I have since adopted it alongside photoshop as my major design platform. I still subcontract work to that previous employer who now uses Corel X3. CorelDraw is particularly useful for multiple page documents and setting up print ready jobs with crop marks and bleeds Using the print preview options.

As a replacement for Pagemaker Indesign offers more flexibility over adding extra drawing and editing tools. I would only use it as a page layout publishing tool for multipage documents such as books etc. when a client has prepared a project already completed in Indesign to convert to a press ready document.
