In the UK since leaving full time College I have been involved in Personnel and Training and for fifiteen years worked for a major Car Manufacture which at the time I left was called the “Rover Group”. There I worked in the Personnel and Training Department responsible in the main for recruitment and testing of Apprentices for Engineering and Business Administration. I moved on from here to be a Personnel Manager for a Hydraulics Company and was responsible for all aspects of Recruitment, Selection and Training.
My main years were working for Government Funded Training Providers in many roles due to promotion. These Training Providers provide training for both Adult and Young People unemployed in Awarding Body Qualificiations such as IT, Administration, Customer Service, Electronics, Child Care, Management, Retail and much more..... In addition to this it was as part of the contract with the Government to find suitable employment for the individuals concerned and train them in all aspects of interview techniques, body language, social skills to assist them in gaining employment. All of my roles encompassed this, from winning the business with the Government Agency, to seeking suitable premises, facilities management, gaining Awarding Body Approval, recruiting Training and Administration Staff, keeping abreast of Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Quality Standards and Government Legislation.
I have worked with individuals of all ages and backgrounds seeking employment including the project which was to educate employers and individuals with regards to “Age Discrimination Legislation” which came into affect in 2006.
