I am US based, meaning I understand the culture and needs of US based companies. I am currently seeking contract work as a Technical Writer and Quality Assurance Engineer. I have over ten years of Q/A experience and focus on black box testing.
Technical Writing: I have developed game documentation and various educational courses for high school and higher level education. This includes many years of experience writing aviation training courses for flight departments. Most recently, I worked via oDesk for ScanCafe writing marketing templates for email campaigns for existing clients.
Q/A: I have experience creating automated tests, smoke, and load tests. I have created and executed test plans based on product documentation. I have experience testing in multiple environments including Windows, Linux, MacOS, and Game Consoles. Some of the testing tools I have used include Astra Test Director, LoadTest, QuickTest, Trackgear, and JIRA. I have limited experience with SQL, Oracle, Perl, Java, and other languages.

I don't really know how this skill will help much on this site; however, it is my strongest skill and many of the traits that make a successful pilot transfer to other fields. I have been flying for over ten years and currently fly for an airline. I am interested in a position flying corporate. Though I love my airline job, I miss the contact with the customer. We have our big locked door and I don't have much chance to interact with anyone. I miss flying corporate!

I have been working in Q/A for at least ten years. I selected Proficient as my level of expertise as I focus mainly on blackbox (aka behavioral, functional, opaque box, closed box) testing. I am working on my white box/open box skill set and won't consider myself an expert until those skills are stronger.
I started in game software testing, managed a software testing department for a game company, and then moved into application and web based quality assurance. I have extensive experience in writing test plans and test cases, automation tools such as winrunner, and test documentation. My last positions included testing a web based email service, a photography web site, and a game. The game was developed as part of a research project aimed towards children with cancer. The game taught the children how to use their medicine and how to handle side effects. Children who follow their medical regiment significantly increase their odds of surviving the cancer. The preliminary results show that children playing the game followed their instructions closer than those that didn't. I am very proud to have been a part of the study.

I have performed email technical support off and on for at least 7 years. I started at Packard Bell many years ago, worked for an Internet Service Provider in Utah, and most recently, did email support for Barracuda Networks on their spam firewall. At the ISP, I was responsible for setting up an email system which alllowed us to answer emails more quickly and thoroughly than before. At each position, I was at the top for amount of emails taken care of and satisfied customers.

I have been writing for many years, and focused on technical writing for the last four. My last two projects have been writing aviation courses for use by flight schools. MS Aviation is directed at private pilot students and high top focuses on professional pilots. As a professional pilot myself, my background helped me build solid, thorough courses. I have also written documentation for software products including games and web sites, and I am interested in all forms of writing.
