As a native Chinese speaker, I have being used English on a daily basis ever since I came to England for my Master degree in 2003 and I also did some professional translation work as a market analyst in Ipsos. I could translate the two languages easily and professionally.

During this time, I was acturally waiting for my visa to come back to England.Since the time was longer than I expected, so I took a job in a leading department store in my hometown in China because I am always wanted to learn some fashion retail knowledge. The Dennis Department Store(www.dennis.com.cn/ ) is a luxury store, by working there I have not only acquired the basic knowledge of retail policy and process but also gained a comprehensive view on the Chinese fashion industry. 

Responsibilities:
Assist to generate the sales reviews on a monthly basis

Participate to organise promotion events 

Conduct market research in order to find out competitors's position and consumer's needs

Achievements: 
Contributed to the sucess of the sales for the floor

Took part in the sucessful 2009 Chinese New Year promotion and Valentine's day promotion sponsored by the store

Resolved customer disputes with good feedback

• Communicate with the clients during briefing to prepare proposals with clear research objectives and appropriate methodology
• Negotiate with clients on the agreement of payment for each project
• Translate English documents that clients provided into the Chinese version for the Chinese consumers and translate the Chinese version documents into English for Clients
• Provide project-specific training to field supervisors
• Conduct one-to-one indepth interview and focus group discussion as a moderator
• Present research findings during debriefing with clients
• Provide research reports  
• Track the payment status and be responsiable for the final completion

• Independently completed qualitative research projects from the category of hair care,oral care,laundry care,make-up,shaver and in store activity research for the clients' brands.

• Collaborated with my teammates from different countries to improve the quality of our database mainly by means of SPSS and Excel. My main job is to do Data Entry and Desk Research.
