Accounting

Designed general financial and cost accounting systems for Construction and Distribution industries (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, AIA & General Billing, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Job Cost, Order Entry, Payroll--both construction and general-, and Purchase Order).  Worked closely with several Big 8 CPA firms including Arthur Anderson, Ernst & Whinney, and Peat-Marwick-Mitchell to achieve procedural accuracy.

Association

Designed association system that is used by building industry (NAHB) related associations (Accounting and Membership functions which include committee functions, conventions, dues generation and tracking, mailings, membership tracking, special events such as golf and tennis outings, membership drives, raffles, and trade shows).

Management

Founded multiple businesses including The Software Exchange and TSE Software.  In position as CEO, I directed all business activities.  In time, I installed managers to handle day to day departmental operations, but continued direct involvement with major client projects.  I personally directed all software product planning and design  and oversaw all marketing functions, such as dealer arrangements and product advertisement.  I oversaw all internal financial operations and arrangements with banking representatives.  The Software Exchange grew from a two-person startup with five hundred dollars of original funding to a firm doing over one million dollars in annual revenue from software sales and professional services in four years--with no debt.  People management skills include not only having direct responsibility for over 20 internal employees with varying skill types, but also direct involvement with all levels of personnel employed by over 300 clients for which I had direct planning, training and implementation responsibilities.

Telecommunications

Designed system sponsored by McDonnell-Douglas and Southwestern Bell to consolidate all network call records supplied by AT&T Centrex into specialized database for (1) analyzing trunk line and switch traffic to determine load conditions,  call delays, and utilization of in-place trunks (2) identifying over usage of off-network calls by internal users (3) determining inefficient usage of network time by comparing talk times to connect times (4) comparing vendor billings to actual usage, and (5) utilizing collected data for preparing monthly usage statements to departmental supervisors for internal costing procedures.

Designed 32-bit Windows-based application for collection and analysis of multi-location local and long-distance call records for determining employee productivity and marketing efficiency.  Involved multiple brands of  PBXs.
