Using over 20 years of technical communications and visual training experience, plus a vast knowledge of the tools required to accomplish goals efficiently, I seek to provide consultation and freelance production services in the following areas:
Created an example tutorial using Camtasia-generated Flash quizzes and surveys.
I updated an Administrator’s Manual and User’s Guide for the CSX Family of small-market telecom softswitches. Used FrameMaker to update the documentation for the software version upgrades. Used WebWorks Publisher to create a single-source online help system. Supervised four technical writers and two trainers. I was responsible for all status and budgetary considerations.
Created training programs for Voice-over-IP training, feature delta training (comparing features from one release to the next), Advanced Maintenance and Troubleshooting, and Service Order processing. Also provided overall direction for the modularization and streamlining of existing training courseware. Provided proof-of-concept and pilot for web-based training using Camtasia Studio
I created a new training program for the SRP project, educating employees on the use of new software systems that replace mainframe applications in Lube Oil testing, laboratory operations, shipping, and storage.Using FrontPage, I created new Intranet training and user content for the IT department for the rollout of Windows XP worldwide. I also documented their remote networking and remote Internet access policies and procedures for home-working employees. Infineum uses Citrix® networking software to allow remote network access.
Simultaneously with all other assignments during the time period, I performed all documentation services for this maker of consumer-targeted Microsoft Windows-based software.
I created a Windows Help system for SnagIt®, a long-established Windows screen capture application distributed by TechSmith. Also created a Windows Help system for Camtasia Studio®, a Windows desktop software video camera tool. Exported the Help system to HTML using RoboHELP's facility to create Internet Web pages.
I produced a user document for Central Message Switch (CMS), a Tandem mainframe application for managing the message traffic (including all stock and report transactions) between broker firms on or off the New York Stock Exchange floor and the exchange hosts. Also:
Consulted with AT&T Solutions in the same on-line documentation project as described in the entry for June 1995 to July 1996.
Developed on-line information strategies, especially HTML Help. Implemented on-line help for platform applications. Served as the site Webmaster for several intranets within AT&T Solutions.
