Working with Neil was a mixed experience.First the good parts. He was responsive to communication, answered my questions and provided things that were needed for me to get the job done. He also provided clear feedback on what needed to be improved.Unfortunately, the bad points caused me to end my working arrangement with him. Upon completing the PSD->CSS/HTML conversion within the estimated timeframe, I was informed that some of the images were not converted correctly, DIV's with rounded corners were not supposed to be fixed height and he wanted some textual elements captured as images instead. From the designs, there was no indication that the DIVs should be fluid height as the heights were consistent across all the PSD files. This was also never mentioned to me before. Converting the DIVs to fluid height proved to be the most time-consuming and caused me to go over the originally estimated hours. After noticing this, Neil asked me to refund the extra hours saying that the scope had not changed and that I had not done the job satisfactorily. I explained my position, gave him the benefit of the doubt and we agreed that I would owe him 3 extra hours of work. Then he provided a PSD of a Wordpress theme for me to create which I thought I would be able to do within the 3 hours. After reaching three hours of work, there were still some minor points to be addressed. I contacted Neil asking how he would like to proceed. He informed me that he had no further budget for this task but since I estimated three hours he "hoped it wouldn't be a problem" for me to finish. I informed him that I wasn't interested in doing work for free and wasn't going to be fooled again.I hope this feedback is useful for future providers considering work with Neil.
