Vladimir is a very gifted programmer but unsuitable for large projects or working to deadlines. He is often emotional, petulant, moody and immature. He is unable to work to deadlines and on a number of occasions disappeared for more than a week without any notice or warning - further, he has been completely unapologetic about it. Ignoring emails/messages seems to be completely acceptable to him and his 2 month estimate ran for more than 7 months. It was routine to have to deal with his emotional reactions and sulking. The end result, while very clever was full of bugs - and despite this he consistently failed to deliver on the agreed spec and apply himself to finish the task. I would recommend Vladimir for small tasks and problem solving, but he lacks the professionalism and emotional control necessary to stick with a larger project and follow it through to the end. In credit to him, there were times in which he was very responsive and some work he did was outside the original scope - nontheless this does not detract from the main issue which was he did not finish what he was asked to do and became increasingly emotionally erratic. His delays and theatrics have cost me a very considerable amount of money and while I normally pay very large bonuses at the end of a project, after 11 months this still hasn't been finished. A great disappointment.
