I have over 35 years of IT Expertise, specifically IT Project Management, Quality Assurance and Software Development . I also operate my own IT business, providing Project Management and Quality Assurance Services to Organizations big and small across the globe. I am currently managing several online remote IT projects for clients on odesk and elsewhere. My QA Business also embodies a comprehensive high quality fast and flexible QA solution to suit your on demand zero overhead needs using our comprehensive Testlab facilities. I also have 20 years in Software Development expertise. Recently, I also have redeveloped (using PHP), customized OS web products and currently various sites including an ongoing Chess Club online (and as a Facebook Application). Note I am NOT a from scratch web developer, rather a solutions provider using OpenSource Options. I have redeveloped e-commerce sites for small businesses, installed,configured and run CMS websites Joomla,Mambo,Wordpress ,Drupal,Dolphin et al ) for clients and non profit organizations.

I have been specializing in QA since 1992. During all this time. I was in a Manager role and built many teams and departments from scratch. At one point I was Director of QA for a department of 43 people.
Another example would be Netscape where I was brought in to build a QA Department for LDAP servers ( I worked with Mark Smith/Gordon Good the inventors of LDAP). I built a QA department of three teams each with a manager. I also managed coordination across sites in Austin and Grenoble France. Total personnel was around 35.

A recent project managed was for Freebase.com for Metaweb Technologies where I researched what was needed. Wrote the overall plans, acquired and installed the test software needed ( OS), defined the test plan, wrote the test scripts, executed the tests, updated bug tracking systems as bugs were found, generated reports. At the end of the project , All done remotely from my offices through VPN/web Access.

I have been developing software since 1979. From COBOL on mainframes. to Foxbase to things like MODEL 204 ( a CIA based Data Retrieval system) through Access, VB, ZOPL, OPL, GFS> ABS and Syntel. I currently develop code for web based applications and sites using PHP/JS/ XML/ HTML etc.
An example of a current PHP project I work on is my FMO CHESS CLUB. I took an old fork of some open source , and over the last 4 years have extended, enhanced and added new modules.. All using LAMP . I recently wrote an adapted version of the club as a Facebook Application and wrote new GUI screens for mobile devices.

Asteroid Detection
I worked for the Spacewatch Project, and design, created, hosted and webmastered the site for the astronomers. I also was the first person to detect an asteroid that gained an official designation. Overall, I reviewed 10,000 images and found 5 FMO's (asteroids). For this work. I was the subject of global press coverage and interviews.( my 5 minutes of fame : and subsequently the University Regents submitted my name, and now have an asteroid named after me ;).
Early Voting Elections
I vounteered and worked for the local elections board for the MidTerm elections in 2006. I manned and ran with one other person the polling station in a local library., and got to meet almost everyone who lived in the area ;). A lot of fun and a great way to be involved in our democratic process.<br />
Online Novels
I pretend I am an author these days, and have various online novels on the go. IÂ find it very inspirational and good for the soul, and a great way to release creative eneergy.

What started as a hobby, grew into a project. I forked an old version of some Open Source Chess club code in 2004 and then redesigned and redeveloped it into what is now called the FMO CHESS CLUB.
