Access 10 yrs 4.0 2008 Advertising sales payroll for a major newspaper with advertising sales of $50M and sales payroll of over $10M. This desktop application merged system generated text reports into normalized data tables allowing the operator to edit results and apply various payroll compensation plans and commission adjustments. The application allowed for rapid response without the need to modify the enterprise database. Custom charts and reports were created to summarize system generated reports. The payroll process was transformed from a 3 day operation to a 1 hour process. The development included database design, user interface, custom VBA programming, training and support.

08/2000 Present North County Times Database design and analysis / Independent Contributor Designed desktop database applications for both the circulation and advertising sales departments. The circulation applications tracked sales circulation according to ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulation) rules by subscription type and zip code. Additionally individual route and delivery information was tracked to facilitate payment of delivery contractors. For single copy sales I developed an algorithm to estimate future sales and developed an independent contractor billing system. The advertising sales applications tracked advertising sales including sales by advertiser type and geographical area.
08/1998 Present Golden Tee Cocktail Lounge Application Developer and Bookkeeper / Independent Contributor Developed a MS Access accounting program to do monthly accounting, inventory control and menu pricing. The application is a modified double entry system that facilitates rapid data entry and supports multiple locations. The combined sales for this clients locations exceed $1M.
08/1999 07/2007 Universal Sales and Marketing Database design and analysis / Independent Contributor Developed a desktop application that imported large flat files from clients and distributed the records to telephone sales agents for outbound customer retention calls. This was a MS Access application the supported 20 concurrent users. The results were then transmitted back to the clients and sales commissions were tracked for payroll purposes. The application could merge seamlessly with an existing autodialer application based upon MS Server.
