01/2000 Present Data Solutions Owner / Executive January 2000 -     Data SolutionsPresent                   Self-employed Consultant (See project detail below resume summary)·         MS Access Database Development and trouble-shooting·         Process Automation·         Spreadsheet and Database integration and conversion·         Business Systems Analyst·         Microsoft Office TrainingMy most recent project experience in Access Development includes:
1) Development of multi-user GUI environment to facilitate Medical Office remote access to a Patient Management database.  The project also includes automation of complex business rules and financial reporting as well as an interface with Medisoft software that is used to for billing to Medicare, Medicaid and Insurance providers.
2) Automation of complex Cable provider contracts – This project involved interpretation and implementation of vendor contracts for a large scale Cable provider.  Vendor contracts were based on intricate combinations of Channel selection, volume of viewers by region, for specific time periods and rates.  The automation of the contracts provided more consistent and accurate revenue reporting and eventually pulled the company out of bankruptcy.
3)Dell Computers – Various projects through the company – Including automation of high volume international Inventory reconciliation, large scale volume reconciliation of credit accounts that included development of a Multi-user GUI environment.
4) Financial Reporting Tools – These projects provided faster and more accurate weekly reporting for Finance and Accounting Departments.  The time spent preparing reports was significantly reduced from a two-day per week process to one hour per week.  Subsequently, more time could be spent on actual analysis of the results.
5) Accounts Payable Analysis – In two of these projects, the Accounting departments were experiencing loss of data in the Accounts Payable process.  Because of the substantial amount of data being processed through multiple software applications, the departments were unable to determine the cause of the problem.  By using Access, I was able to identify the source of the problem as well as develop a strategy to track the Accounts Payable data throughout the process to identify future discrepancies.  Additionally, the accounting departments were now able to track the invoice processing time, thereby salvaging credit ratings and reducing late fees.
6) Financial Analysis – This project was primarily a conversion of Excel spreadsheets used in weekly and monthly financial analysis of expense into database format.  As with many Accounting departments, the Excel spreadsheets had become complex, cumbersome and error prone.  By downloading the expense data directly into a database, rather than manually inputting the information into Excel, the analysis process was greatly simplified.  This in turn, provided more time to for an accurate and timely analysis.
7)  Fixed Asset Tracking and Depreciation – This project was also a conversion of Excel spreadsheets into database format.  The resulting database was able to provide monthly reconciliation’s of Fixed Asset accounts as well as calculate Fixed Asset Depreciation Expense.  The time spent preparing the reconciliation’s and depreciation expense was reduced from one week per month to approximately two hours per month.
8) Capitalized Work in Process Tracking – This project was restoration and improvement to a damaged database that was developed to track capital projects.  The database had similar functionality to Fixed Asset tracking but was also able to provide budget comparisons, and generate the results in the form of departmental reports.
9)  Inventory Tracking – This project was a conversion of many complex Excel Spreadsheets used to track inventory into database format.  The end result increased accuracy of inventory tracking and reduced time spent on inventory tracking from one month to one day.

In this most recent project, I am responsible for Process Automation using MS Access database and GUI interfaces.  The primary tasks at hand were to implement VBA that allows the users to use a Mailmerge function to automate Legal Documents that were being manually created.  These Mailmerge documents are accessable through the use of Hyperlinks stored in a table.
Additionally, a Dialog Box functionality was implemented to select and save other documents that needed stored in a central location with the Legal Documents.
Lastly, the ability to email multiple attachments was implemented so that the end-user could easily send all related documents from Access.
Another part of this project is data normalization between the various departments of the compan.
