:- Hi , I am pondering over attending any PMP prep course / PMP classes to get PMP
credentials. What are your thoughts? Would that be worth the money spent
    professionally?

  • Alexia Marthoon

    Certifications will definitely increase the
salary significantly. For project management professionals, I would suggest
them to attend any genuine agile scrum
    certification
    courses (eg. Scrum
    Master Certification
). If not anything, at least it will give a boost
    to your career and salary.

Hi Guys, as providers of both Prince2 and Microsoft Project training I can see this resource being very useful for us. I read Vlad's comment with interest and do agree, but I think that knowledge of a methodology and MS Project is a distinct advantage. I'm still amazed at the the number of experienced PMs that we get on Prince2 courses who don't use MS Project and must be wasting a lot of time. I'm sure that it's because they just haven't been shown what the software is capable of. I would be interested in other PMs views on this.

I mentioned this blog list yesterday on the Guardian Careers Live Q&A for Project Management, I think it's an excellent way for people new to project management to learn more about their profession. Of course it's not just for newbies but I believe its a group that need to look at their professional development more.

    The link is http://tiny.cc/project_career

Any many thanks for including the Camel in the list :)

    Hi,

    Interesting list of PM blogs.
I especially enjoy 'a girl's guide to pm'.

I also read http://projectmagazine.com It's updated pretty regularly.

    Two comments....

    1) You included PM Majik on there which hasn't been updated in months. I disagree with this one.

    2) You didn't include PMTips (www.pmtips.net) which is a great blog with decent readership, lots of feedback and 40-50 fresh articles every month. Ok, I'm biased because I'm the biggest contributor to this site, but it truly is a good, solid site for useful real-life PM information and experiences.

Thanks again for posting this list, btw - it is a good list...I just would like to suggest you include PMTips.
