The next time you look for a job or post a new job, check out the new job description page.  Our designers have been hard at work revamping this page.  They’ve cleaned it up, given it a fresh new look, and highlighted the key information you need.  For providers, it’s now easier to determine whether a particular job is a good fit for you.  For buyers, you can now use this page to easily update your open job posts. 
For providers:
  • Right up top – see the job description, skills required and preferred qualifications
  • Check the job status, including when the buyer last viewed the job, # of applicants and # interviewing
  • Quickly see if you’ve already applied to the job
  • Review the buyer’s work history and other open jobs
For buyers, you can now use this job description page to manage your open jobs posts – make edits, repost, make the job private to stop receiving applications, or close the job once it’s filled.  Keep in mind, to manage active assignments, you should go to the assignment detail page.

    I think there is a good support provided by oDesk for the new contractors. There is 24/7 online support facility, one of the best I’ve seen. The support team is very much cooperative. You have any question you can ask them instantly and they’ll try their best to satisfy you.

    For new freelancers, if they are talented indeed, there is a great way to prove their skills without having any portfolio on their account and that great way is Free oDesk Tests. I am sure there is a test for every skill and you should take tests to increase your chances to get your first job and to increase your job application quota.

    When you login to oDesk, they give you links to valuable suggestions to improve your chances to get your first and more jobs.

    I’ll just wonder if one has passed oDesk Readiness Test and still feels oneself NOT READY for working in oDesk environment.

    Hi, It is fine change to facilitate both contrasters & Employers even for Odesk organization also. But there is nothing complete guidance for the new contractor like me. After qualifying Odesk Readiness Test. what should I do further to get job on net. I have to spend a lot of time to understand this phenomena. Kindly, help me in this regard.

    Yes, it’s very nice.

    But I still wish you would implement my suggestion to tech, and have the buyers specify whether they are working in Mac or PC, particularly on graphics jobs. If apply and then find out they don’t take Mac files, I’ve wasted an application.
