Panos Ipeirotis is the former Academic-In-Residence at oDesk. An Associate Professor at the Department of Information, Operations, and Management Sciences at New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, he has received three “Best Paper” awards, two “Best Paper Runner Up” awards and is also a recipient of a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation. He received a PhD in Computer Science from Columbia University with distinction and also holds a diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics from Panepistimion Patron. His recent research interests focus on crowdsourcing and mining user-generated content on the internet. In his spare time, he writes blogs about crowdsourcing and various other topics, an activity that seems to generate more interest and recognition than any of the above.
