Help! This newbie has a question.

Hello! I'm a newbie here in oDesk. I just want to ask something regarding the payment methods. I have no bank account of my own but I have a personal ATM account. Why can't I just use my ATM account? I mean, I can't open a bank account because I can't afford its monthly deposit yet. I'm what you call a "fresh-graduate-but-not-really". Tongue

Please enlighten me.

Hi Sarreline

You can contact Customer Support to ask why/if you can use an ATM account, but I imagine it is because they have to have a real bank account associated with your name, etc; to send the funds to, not just an ATM. Another option is to use the Payoneer Mastercard Debit, which you can use at any ATM that services Mastercard. I hope this helps! Smile

Thank you for replying, Ms. Barbara. I went over the Payoneer site. Yeah, I think I might try that once I resolve my ATM issue. Thanks!

Umm...

I believe ATM accounts in the Philippines are associated with a corresponding bank account. Usually, the bank account in NOT the ATM account number in front, but the number on the back of the card.

I've been using my BPI Direct Express Teller Account (which is an ATM-based account, not a passbook) for the LFT and it is associated with a bank account. Check the back of your card to see the bank account number, or contact your bank to get more information.

Thanks for the info, Ms.

Thanks for the info, Ms. Helene. I checked my ATM (Allied Bank Cash Card)card ,there are no numbers at the back of the card.

You should contact your bank.

You should contact your bank. Ask about the bank account number. In the EON Unionbank card, the bank account number is in front of the card, right below the ATM card number. But best ask your bank to avoid problems. I'm pretty sure all ATM accounts are associated with bank accounts, since it's still a deposit/savings account.

Okay I will. Thank you so

Okay I will. Thank you so much for replying. Smile

ATM

I use an RCBC ATM account and I have no problems so far. ATM card number is different from your Bank account number. When applying the Local Funds Transfer, use your bank account number.

Okay. Thanks for replying.

Okay. Thanks for replying. Smile
