LFT Withdrawal Issue

Hey all,

Anybody here from the Philippines having LFT withdrawal issues?

I withdrew money from my odesk wallet last october 1 7 and it's expected to hit my account on the 22nd, but it is still not visible util now.

My bank's BPI.

I made a withdrawal request as well on 17th October but the funds have not reached yet. It is a USD Wire Transfer. I don't know much about your BPI banking but I have a current PKR account in Standard Chartered Bank. Roxanne, who told you to wait till 31st October? The bank or oDesk? The info you'll provide will help me to ask relevant questions from the same source.

A bank withdraw typically completes within 5 business days, however there are bank issues that can occasionally cause a longer delay. We can initiate a trace if you still do not receive the funds on October 31. Please let us know if you still do not receive it on the 31st.

We understand that you sent funds to your BPI account through Odesk last October 17 and you have received advice from them that this should be processed by October 22. We regret to say that we found no record of receipt of the said remittance. Allow us to explain that Odesk transfers are treated as regular remittances only as we have no special or direct tie-up arrangement with them yet. Thus, Odesk is unable to send remittances to BPI directly and must course transactions to other banks or remittance service providers until a direct transfer is possible. May we suggest then that you coordinate again with them your account verification concerns.

For how long have you been using LFT?
Mine's only for 2 months, but this is the first time I had issues regarding withdrawals.

I contacted Odesk support twice and I've been told that the funds has been successfully released from my odesk account. I haven't contacted BPI yet though.

Also, that if 10 days has passed and it's still not visible on my account, then I should contact support again. That means I should wait until Oct.31 and then further actions will be taken from there.

This is very disappointing. Really.

LFT from odesk to BPI

Hi,contractors I been facing the same issue today with local fund transfer on my bpi account. I have delay problem also with my withdrawal last oct 17 and received the amount late. I been using bpi since June 2012 , it was always been prompt but just started last oct 17, 2012 I been having issues. And again this week, I withdrew money using LFT dated oct 24 and oct 25. Supposedly the amount should reflect on my account friday evening. It's Saturday evening and the amount didn't reflect yet on my account. I was having a headache checking my account and having the same response from odesk to wait for 10 days so they can trace it. Also, I got a message from BPI:

BPI at this time, does not have an existing remittance arrangement with
ODesk. As such, it is unable to send direct remittances to BPI accounts and
courses transactions to other banks or remittance service providers until a
direct transfer is possible. This affects turn-around time. You may verify
this information with ODesk.

I don't understand it much. If you have problems also the same as mine please post a reply. Thank you!

I am also having issues with LFT to my BPI atm account. I was expecting money to come in OCT 23 the latest which has yet not happened. The BPI phone rep told me to wait until Oct 31 then file a complaint.

By the way, this is what it says under the "Important Reminders" section on the BPI Online Banking site:

"It is agreed that if no complaint is received within 20 calendar days from the date of your transaction, any and all transactions and the transaction
details therein shall be considered correct and any claim against the Bank shall be waived."

45 DAYS and NO MONEY. LFT failure

Hey everyone,

I've been "hanging in here" for 45 days. oDesk support gives me repetitive answers and claims they've been waiting for my bank to respond to their follow up. I's impossible for ANY bank to NOT give a response after 45 days. The support team has stopped answering to my update requests. This is disturbing.

I am looking for ways to recover the transferred funds, and I even consider getting more people to file a lawsuit against oDesk.

It's been an on and off issue

It's been an on and off issue with our own bank here -- apparently, it is our bank's fault. There should at least be some communication with the contractors as to what's going on with the remittance failures/delays so that we don't wait and sit around expecting the money we worked very hard for to be in some limbo. My 10/01/2012-10/07/2012 pay was supposed to have gotten to my account Oct 23 but up until now it's not there and two chat support agents I spoke with gave me their standard responses. Now I've been asked to wait until Tuesday and see if it will be in my account and if not, to "contact" them again and see what miracle they can do next. It's more than two weeks now and still counting.

My 10/08/2012-10/14/2012 pay should've been here tonight, as indicated in the email they sent to me. And with that too, of course, they will say to give it 5 business days. And holidays here are coming so of course that means I have to put that into account as well.

I just don't see how that is fair when they get their cut from our employers right on schedule and we have to wait with no definite answer.

Catalina, have you phoned your bank to confirm if they have received a query from oDesk or their bank regarding the remittance? You could confirm if an appropriate reply has been sent back to help speed things up..

Lawsuit against oDesk

Hi all!

I think Catalina is right. If the issue is not resolved anytime soon, Filipino contractors in oDesk should file lawsuit against oDesk. It seems like oDesk is not paying enough attention to this problem.

Iwent to BPI they told me that the last transaction that they had from Odesk was on Oct.12... they told me to get back with odesk and trace my funds ... As they have nothing to do with it since they dont have pending transactions ...

I've just contacted oDesk support and I've been told that BPI is currently resolving the withdrawal delays and the funds should be hitting your bank accounts within 48 hours.

Yes I got my funds already withdrawn from Oct.17 back to my Odesk Wallet

What I dont have is the withdrawals from Oct.22 and 24th and Im still hoping to see that funds today or on Monday back to my account

Im not using BPI anymore ,I already open an account to RCBC , I dont want to experience that delay again it caused me so much trouble

Sorry i was not able to successfully open an account with RCBC because it will take 6 months for the remittance to be activated on the account

I went to Security Bank instead , maintaining balance is only Php 500.00 and you will get your ATM card within 2 Weeks

Odesk suggested to use a different withdrawal method or bank account (if you have any) because they cannot guarantees as to when this issue will be resolved.

May I ask about Security bank fees

I am very eager to open an account with another bank for my LFT remittance. I am currently using BPI Express and just like with most of us, I am experiencing a lot of frustrating delays too.

May I ask, would you know how much is the LFT remittance fee from Security bank? I am checking bank remittance fee differences. I am hoping to find a bank that receives LFT funds on time, and doesn't have expensive remittance fees.

LFT withdrawal using MBTC

Hi,

I would like to share that I've been using Metrobank for more than 2 years now and never encountered a single problem with my remittance. Though, they have a bank charge of Php70+++ but it never gave me any problem at all.

My withdrawal was successfully processed last Oct 19 and the expected date of delivery was Oct 25 and the money is still unavailable. I think there is a problem with BPI.

The withdrawal I made last oct 17 and 23rd hasnt arrived on my account (bpi) nor refunded on my wallet. I already submitted several support tickets but they are just giving me contradicting information. I am worried because some contractors here had their refunds process already and mine's still not there. The support specialist who's handling my issue is really not helping, she's replying to my queries after a day!

Looks like the issue is only with the BPI bank. Why don't you change your bank? Most of the withdrawal issues looks like associated only with this BPI bank.

No Sharique only BPI bank is not responsible for all this. My bank is Standard Chartered Bank and oDesk is using Standard Chartered Bank for international wire transfers now. Now, what is the excuse for oDesk now? The issue and the problem is that oDesk is not providing trustworthy answers to contractors. I made my first withdrawal on 17th October as well. I am speculating that in the phase of 17th October to 30th October, oDesk failed to transfer 10-20% ( just guessing ) of the international wire transfers which is making most of the professional contractors like me really uneasy and skeptical in the first place.

I would finish the current contracts on mine and I would not proceed until and unless oDesk gives the answers we want. I want to earn and withdraw my earnings rather than earn for oDesk blindfoldedly.

I think you should contact another oDesk support representative. If the funds you withdrew from Oct. 17 is still not hitting your bank account nor returned to your odesk wallet, then you really should be worried. 10 working days has already passed and it should have been on either of your odesk or bank account already.

Anyone using Union Bank's EON Card?

My withdrawal in oDesk on October 19, 2012 is not reflecting on my account yet until now. I was told that it will be returned on my oDesk wallet and not on my BPI account, but no exact date when.

Is there anyone here opened/using Union Bank's Eon Card? Are there issues like BPI's LFT process? Too bad I cannot link my EON card to Paypal, so I need to go back to Union on Monday.

Hi. I've also considered opening an EON account that I can link to my PayPal account. I just can't wait for this BPI issue to be resolved since other contractors are waiting as much as 45 days and still haven't achieved anything yet.

This is clearly disappointing for oDesk, considering that I've been banking via LFT for almost two years now.

Anyway, my question for you Maricar is why can't you link your EON to your Paypal? Did you succeed in using this to verify your Paypal account?

Is anybody using Metrobank here? Are there also LFT problems with this Philippine bank?

Although I don't want to put my trust on oDesk's LFT method anymore since my oct. 24 withdrawal to my BPI account hasn't arrived till now, I'm willing to try again with another bank. So if there's any Metrobank user out there who's experiencing the same problem, please comment.

LTF Delays

I've got the same problem. Mine was cleared by Odesk last October 23rd, however until now the funds hasn't arrived. Another bad thing is that Odesk seemed to shut down their live chat support feature. They also stopped responding to my queries. This is frustrating.
