New Message Display System:: Life Got Tougher | Some Suggestions

Web Applications should make our lives more easier and less difficult.
Odesk's recent update to the message center looks cool, but is it helping?
That said, the current message layout isn't making it easier, for:
- Reading: [Forcing Click]
by forcing users to 'click' on older messages, since almost everyone would want to follow the last few posts, to reply back to a message thread. Forcing anyone doing something isn't user friendly.
A few oneliners, maybe upto the last 3 messages could help really. And then clicking once could only display the last 3-5 messages only instead of displaying all the whole message thread, else the brain just gets overwhelmed with maybe last 50 messages! .. and having to 'find' the 'focus zone' again way down below the page.
- Writing [Forcing Scroll]
Being made to Scroll Down all the way to post a 'reply', if one just clicked on the 'older messages' with maybe 50 posts. Just try using mouse wheel (everyone uses wheel) scrolling 5 - 10 times to go to the bottom of the page to post a reply.
[a] REPLY Area could be at the Top of the Page (optionally hidden by Jquery - as in Reply[+]).
[b] Message Center could rather be in Reverse Chronological Order, ie. Newest Messages first so that we do not need to scroll all the way down to post a reply. Also messages far below the page, could simply be loaded dynamically upon mouse scrolling - something like what facebook does to its pages being loaded dynamically upon scrolling down.
[c] Next the messages should not be hidden, as in the current message layout - at least not the immediately preceding couple of them. I believe everyone needs to follow the last few messages of the discussion thread and so hiding them makes matter somewhat a daunting task. Gmail has a similar feature but it is friendlier since the last messages are being shown on a single line (and only hides the stack in the middle).
Odesk can do that, if it wants to keep the recent updates and as well as help us NOT click on the 'older messages' hidden messages every single time.
But for now, there seems to be more mouse clicks registered to get one job done ie. to post a reply or to recollect the message thread . Somehow I liked the one liner message bars, in the last message layout system. That seemed to be better in usefulness than the current layout system.
Did the recent odesk update of the message center / message layout make your life easier or more difficult?
