Bad feedback policy after disputes

Hello,

Please take in consideration this case (and future cases like this).

It is unfair that after a dispute contractor or client can write a feedback.

For example, I am a contractor, and in my case the client did not want to pay. He began a dispute, and finally he lost it. After that, he wanted to make his own justice through the feedback, scoring low and writing a bad feedback.

If oDesk mediates in a dispute, both contractor and client must lose the rights to make a feedback, because, obviously, the loser will make a bad feedback.

Please, I am asking you that do not permit feedbacks in contracts concluded with a dispute.

Thanks,
Juan

I agree with this. Same

I agree with this. Same thing just happened to me, buyer lost dispute then raped me with bad feedback

Same with me the client just

Same with me the client just ended my contract without proper notice and give me bad feedback that totally drags down my good feedback to 3.58. The client did not pay the right amount of hours that they should pay me.

Really?

The "right amount of hours" should have been logged in the oDesk tool for you to be "paid right amount of hours". Furthermore, how in the dickens did you work over 400 hours in two months with other contracts going on? This means you worked nearly 7 hours a day 7 days a week for this one client.

Good idea

Yes a good and original idea.
Thumbs up
Star Star Star Star Star

I agree.

It is open to abuse as well, though

I do agree that on the surface it sounds like a good idea. However, this would mean that any client or contractor who messes up and fears bad feedback could just open a dispute and there would be no danger of feedback.....

I do think that longer term contracts should have the feedback "chopped up" - maybe weekly or fortnightly, a bit like milestones. That way a long term and mainly great cooperation would result in dire feedback just because things fell apart in the end. If a contractor and a client work really well together for months, and leave each other 10 good scores as "milestone scores," then fall out in a spectacular fashion and end the contract with a bang, leaving bad final feedback; then the overall score would reflect the overall picture in a fair way.

If the overall (final) feedback score was made up out of all the "milestone scores" as well as the final "end of contract" score the overall picture would be fairer and it would not be possible for a disagreement or an argument or a single incident to completely alter the way a long term contract is reflected in anybody's profile ( client and contractor alike)

I think

I think the one(contractor or client) who loose the dispute will not have right to give feedback.

Maybe an addition to this ammendment

How about when a dispute is filed, instead of a feedback, it is placed on each profile Dispute Won 1, Dispute lost 1.

Then while looking at feedback people can also see that a contractor or client won or lost a dispute in the past.

I agree as well

I think this is a good idea.

I also think contractors and clients should be given a chance to respond once to feedback as well.

Bad Star rating from client affected by unrelated discussion

Is it true that the contractor must obey whatever the client pushes until the client provides a feedback? Odesk is only for lucky contractors and toady clients then, this is ridiculous.
