oh dear.

You would think anyone who could build "a dream home on the Gold Coast Australia" could also pay you on time, right? Especially when they're so good-hearted they're doing it all for charity? Wink

I would give it another week or so and then file a dispute. However, I suspect that $1 you got, is all you're ever going to get. That paid for them using your name.

Two questions you need to ask yourself:

Why would a "charity" from the UK offer a house (no pics, no floor plans to be seen anywhere) in AUSTRALIA to contest winners?

Why would any charity even remotely legitimate HAVE to come to oDesk for designer-judges? Wouldn't they be able to find someone in a vast network of international contacts -- something reputable charities are known for?

My suggestion: if you don't get your money, get your name off that website and that "competition" before the authorities come asking you questions.

This thing smells to high heaven.

:)

The client needs the money him/herself. Wait for a week and if you still did not receive a reply, refund the $1 charity back to the owner. Amen.

Robert...

Thanks for repaying your advisers in a such a nice way. Deleting your query and pretending that you wrote nothing is a foolish act.

Ameer...

I guess he didn't like having the obvious pointed out to him. Wink

Looks like the other person "hired" for that job was smart enough to decline it.

I second your thoughts. Some

I second your thoughts. Some people are hard to be understood.

I would hazard a guess.......

No. They would not appear as "hired" then. I would hazard a guess that the other person didn't have the good sense to get at least $ 1.00 up front so was "had" in the same way, just without the benefit of being able to leave feedback (or $ 1.00 for half a cup of coffee......)

payment delayed

is anyone experiencing a delay in payment with BPI, too? I made a withdrawal on November 28 but the money is not in my bank yet.

Hellooooo!!!!

You're not really familiar with reading every post in a thread before making a comment, are you? As an "editor/proofreader" that really is something you should pay attention to -- as this thread has nothing at all to do with BPI or payments.

Time Out

Hmmm... same thoughts, exactly. Where did that come from? Anyway, to answer her question - nope, been using payoneer and paypal ever since Smile

To Robert: Please do your due diligence and report this scam to local authorities; I bet they have websites where you can file a complaint somewhere

foolish

Ameer,

I deleted the query because from the very first post, it was way off topic.

The first person assumed it was about a job "judge for christmas card ".

My question had nothing to do with that client, So to stop further embarrassment

for that client I deleted it.

Maybe you should think before calling things foolish.

Rob

Right....

Of course its not. Wink

off course

Cate, I believe your the one that took the topic off course.
