I got suspicious when I felt

I got suspicious when I felt that the profile picture looks like that of a model or something. My suspicion was confirmed when I saw the portfolio where the work was just outstanding and seemed like it belonged to a very seasoned designer and not to somebody asking for help to get a job. If he really had that kind of skills, then he would have been swamped with work. Wink A lot of such designer's profiles are on ODesk lately.

I've lost count of the amount

I've lost count of the amount of fake portfolio work i've seen on here browsing around. Stuff i've seen countless times before around the net. Some folks aren't even bothering to try, it's like the first image you'll see if you Google 'business cards' or something.

You see logos for big global companies from people who are working for $1 an hour and logos pinched from '50 Great Logo Examples' type blogs. It's the pits.

Essentially ripping off other people's hard work and then using that work to drag down the market rates for their profession. Double back-stab.

I'd love to say it would all end once they're hired because they'll get caught out, but it doesn't end there. A few slip through the net by pinching even more things from around the net and passing it off as their own.

But then again if you really think your $1 an hour designer created the branding for Whole Foods you deserve a little wake-up burn.

a scam waiting to happen.

a scam waiting to happen.

You're right.

I also like how he has experience in "writting."

Kind of makes me wonder what kind of "articals" and "writting" he's done and who he's plagiarized. Wink

I often wonder how these writters manage to code in HTML when they can't use English. Those 'typos' must be hell to spot in a page of code.

Well Web Design is mostly done in Photoshop, yes.

I think the language is misleading. You create graphics for a website in Photoshop. The site itself is not created in Photoshop. Need a cookie?

Thats why I said 'Web

Cookie? Freshly baked?? Yum.

I think it does indeed go further than "just" graphics

A lot of people design a site in Photoshop, not just the graphics.

The design can then be exported for further functionality but it is wrong to say that you can't create a site in Photoshop. You absolutely can. Well, people who know how to absolutely can and do.

Cookie with silver candy

Cookie with silver candy balls and sugar glitter.

Apologies. Clearly not a designer and clearly need a new version of Photoshop.
