At least one wire transfer should be free in a month.

Just wanted to suggest that one wire transfer should cost developer to around $1.99
If odesk provide at least one wire transfer at zero charge then it will be great.

Will you also do a free day's work, per client, per month?

Why would they and why should they? I assume you don't work for free? Do your local shops give you free shopping?

oDesk can do that if they like...

They can do that if they want this is just a suggestion.

Anyone can give his/her suggestion that doesn't mean that you can start assuming anything about anyone. Also are you comparing somebody one day income to oDesk Wire transfer cost. If you can't give positive reply then don't try to be negative also.

Anyway, i suggest because its beneficial for both.
This way contractors gets one free wire transfer per month. And as contractor wait to withdraw his one month earning from oDesk account then oDesk will get one month interest on contractor earning.

Great Idea

I think this is a great suggestion, 1x per month wire transfer or paypal withdraw, whatever your method for free.

They get their money via the fee. By using this method that would be a reward for only taking your money out once a month, if you wish to withdraw more often you could do so for an additional fee.

While it is their choice to charge the fee, and I will continue to pay it, I believe this is a great suggestion and should be considered by oDesk!

Prove please

To make you happy

It is not in the terms of service or the policy. It is on some obscure page, that by being on said page would actually make it not enforceable by oDesk.
Otherwise, from now on stop changing topics in feedback threads before you get as bad as Petra, Cate B, and Moreen.

It's still violating the rules

Junelle A. wrote:
good, you changed it. :)

Not to anything that conforms to the rules, though!

Yes it does

It perfectly conforms to the rules. This logo, which I changed it back to by the way, is registered in my county, in my state, in my country to me as a sole proprieter, under a DBA, and therefore is a verifiable form of identity and conforms PERFECTLY to the rules. Too bad so sad, don't cry.

No it actually doesn't

Though you seem to not give a crap about the rules I'd like to point out in the oDesk terms of service (which you agreed to when you registered your account)

Emphasis mine

Yes it does.

In the united states a business can be attached to a social security number. Which mine is, I have government documents with this logo attached to my social security number, and my name. So too bad for you that you do not know how to set up a legal business entity. This logo represents only myself, there are no employees other than myself. I conform to the rules by law. You are just mad you can not figure out how to do it.

In fact, my photo is MORE conformed to the rules than J's.

Can you read?

Selective at best.

Did you read this part "Using an image of anything or anyone other than yourself as a portrait. (See Identity Policy for additional information. ". so image of anything is where you violate the TOS. Logos are not considered images of a person

Because I am actually

Because I am actually registered with the government and comply legally to every rule in the identity policy.

Too late, they already had me

Too late, they already had me send in the paperwork and gave the OK. Again stop trying to be an oDesk employee. All you do is argue.

That is because you are too

That is because you are too busy arguing to look up how things work. My picture is MUCH MORE in compliance than yours. Yours has not a thing to do with your identity at all.

I believe its good for those oDesk users also who
earns $50 to $100 in a week and when they
withdraw their money oDesk charge them withdrawal fees.

Bumping

Rahul is requesting information on the potential to change withdrawal fees. How do others feel about this.

Since Charles has insisted on promoting himself and his bogus profile picture this has gotten lost in the shuffle.

Funny

How you blame it on me when it is never me that changes the topic, always you, Petra, Cate B. and now this Junelle person. How about you look where the threads started, much like this one with your hate comments forcing an off topic, just as hers did. You 4 need to start looking in the mirror, would be best if you stayed off the forums all together.

Would be much nicer place without your foulness Charles. I've looked at all of your 50 odd posts and found one to actually be worth reading where you're not calling someone else an idiot. Time for you to take a look in the mirror. You're the one who's spreading hate and discontent.

About withdrawal fees

Rahul Sharma wrote:

Personally, I don't think the fees are excessive. Many sites charge this type of fee and if you look at Elance for an example (which I hate to do!) they also charge for withdrawals. I'm not sure that oDesk is going to actually consider this type of reduction.

Fees

I'd like one free withdrawal.

The fees may not be excessive for you because you can take advantage of the local funds transfer which not everyone can. If I want to take my money out, I either have to send it to Paypal (which I refuse to do because of thier excessive exchange rates) or use a wire transfer. Odesk charges US$30.00 to do this which is quite a bit really.

And I think Elance does give you one free withdrawal a month (alhough I could be wrong about this since I don't work there much.

I didn't realize that

David, I didn't realize that WT was $30 -- however, I can assure you that when I do a wire transfer from my own bank the bank does charge me $30. I would imagine these fees could add up quickly with the number of folks using this method outside the US. I pay them even inside the US.

Doreen

Fees

I'm not arguing that it's excessive.

I'm just saying it would be nice it we had one free withdrawal a month.

Of course, it would be nice to win the lottery as well.

Yes

$30 is what the bank charges me to wire money to another country too so that is what it is charging oDesk.
I knew I saw a post ages ago where Jacqui said they were just passing on the fee but were looking at ways to reduce it.Guess they never found them. At least it has not gone up since this post in 2010.
