Why my financial account has beed suspended, while client failed to verify his payment method

Hi everyone,
I was hired on an hourly project and client was verified at that time. After two days I received a ticket that my financial account has been suspended as one of client failed to verify his payment method.I can't withdraw my earnings of other projects too.Why I am unable to withdraw earnings of my other projects.

Can any one help me and When my financial account will resume I have earnings from other projects there is problem occuring to withdraw payments. How much time takes to resolve that type of problems.

If you read through the forum you will find that some people did get their account back after a temporary suspension period.

Mine was suspended a couple of weeks ago because clients creditcard expired.

Contract was open, but finished. Just told support to cancel the contract as it was complete.

They did and account not suspended.

Was your whole account suspended or just the contract in question ???

If oDesk suspend a contractor account for no reason other than the fact that one client has an expired credit card then that is so SO wrong.

Suspend the CONTRACT, by all means, but NOT the whole contractor account.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I've had the occasional contract suspended, mostly due to credit card issues (used to happen almost monthly with one of my clients), but it has always been only the contract with the problematic card that gets suspended. It really makes no sense to suspend the entire financial account of the contractor in such cases.

It would make a degree of sense to suspend a CONTRACT in that case. By all means suspend the active contract with a client who has some payment issues. That is whynI am asking whethernitbwas the contract that was suspended, or the contractor's entire account.

There are absolutely legitimate reasons to suspend an account. But if oDesk suspend a contractor's whole account because of a payment issue with one particular client then I don't think that's right, especially when that goes on for days or weeks on end.

The dozens of threads from terrified contractors who had their entire account suspended and had no access to their money for weeks, without seemingly even getting any meaningful replies from oDesk, do not exactly inspire confidence.

Many of them report that their accounts were eventually unsuspended. Others just seem to vanish. I am sure many were suspended for very good and valid reasons. But some appear to have been blocked from accessing their own money for weeks and weeks on end, and we're not even told WHY - during or after the suspension.

It was early in the morning, I was still in bed and had not sufficiently replenished my caffeine levels. I do not function until I had enough coffee.

I am NOT going to edit it and leave it for general amusement.

Petra, if it's just the

Petra, if it's just the failed credit card, then only that particular contract is put on hold/suspended until the payment issue is resolved. oDesk sends out a notification to stop working on that contract until the problem is dealt with. The rest of the account functions normally.

Financial account suspended

I am Kind of facing the same issue but i have not received any notice that they are suspending my account. Just seen the red note that my account is suspended. I am so disappointed, and no one is responding on the ticket i sent.

Has your account been resolved? How many days did it took Odesk to lift the suspension? I'm facing the same problem - and I have been waiting for more than 5 days - still NO avail.

WRONG , VERY VERY WRONG

Wrong or not, it just happened to me to. My financial account suspended, prior to this a contract was suspended for unknown reasons to me. Now they punish me for the clients incompetence.

Just nice, and I need my money in 2 days, they told me from support to wait for an answer for 24-48 hours. THIS IS NOT MY FAULT. Why do you punish me for a client who did not do something right. I worked for that money, I did not beg or robbed someone for that money I SIMPLY WORKED for the money. And the client had a verified payment method when they hired me, it's not my fault that Odesk failed to check his credit card properly.

Contact me as soon as possible and Unfreeze my money because I need them by 20th of February 2013 I have a bank loan to pay and they don't wait if I tell them that Odesk will not release my money because some Client failed to do something and I got punished for it even though its not my fault.
