What To Do When a Client Ended a Contract Without Paying You

This client hired me to write 20 articles after asking for a sample. He made me submit the first article for a review and he said
" This looks great - please make sure to use a KWD of 2% for all of these articles. Ensure formatting/spacing is consistent...there is an extra line break before the first subheader...Will look for the remaining 9 by Friday evening."
I submitted the articles last Friday and ask for a feedback.
"Got it Jess...looking forward to the remaining 10 on Sunday evening. Thanks!"
I then submitted the last 10 to complete the 20 as per our contract.
"Got it Jess - will get this to my client ASAP and let you know what she says. "
He did not tell me in the first place that it was for a client and now after a few hours he's telling me that:
"My client was extremely disappointed in the quality of the articles. She will not be using any of them and has cancelled her order with me. Unfortunately I will be unable to pay you since that would cost me money."
He did not wait for my reply and then just ended the contract.
I filed a complaint at oDesk a few minutes ago. I know that they cannot force the client to pay up but I am hoping they can do something about it --- to ban these clients or make a wall with a list of disreputable clients or something to that effect...
Is there a way to make them pay? Please help...
