Quick question regarding contracts

I have a quick question regarding contracts. I was hired on an hourly contract to do some rewriting work. After completing the work, the client said she was happy with it and asked me if I was willing to do more to which I agreed. She didn't get back to me after that. My contract is still active. What I want to is that, if my work is done, should she not have paid me by now? It's been two days. And why is my contract still valid? I emailed her again an hour ago, but she hasn't gotten back to me.
Does it generally take time to end a contract after the work is done, and does it take time for the client to transfer funds to a contractors oDesk m-wallet account?
