Congratulations on the great

Congratulations on the great work on your profile, especially the portfolio section!

I believe you are all set in terms of the profile to go ahead and apply to more job openings and if you keep your coverletters in line with your profile, it won't be too long before you get your first project.

Thank you ! I am working on

Thank you ! Smile

I am working on every cover letter that I send to customer, but I am not sure that my hourly rate is appropriate as I have no oDesk history.

As it has been suggested

As it has been suggested here on the forum, compete in quality, not in hourly rate Smile. Although you do not have any oDesk history, you obviously have a lot of experience outside oDesk - use it to your advantage.

A couple of things to try:

1) If you have non-oDesk clients who would be willing to give you reference, mention it in the coverletter when you apply.

2) Depending on each project, you can suggest to the Buyer to do part of a project (after which they get a piece of a functional application) at a lower cost, so they can get a feeling of the quality of your work, as well as your communication skills (equaly important in remote work).

3) Again, depending on the project, ask the Buyer for enough details to help you plan the work - and send your project plan to them (make sure to keep the balance between showing them that you know what you are talking about and giving out too many details they could use as free instructions with another developer).

For some reason I strongly believe that with some patience you will find a client ready to pay your price for your skills and experience.

Hope this helps,

Olga, thank you for good
