Data Engineer for Custom Automation Tool Development

Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to develop a custom automation tool that compiles and analyzes data from our internal sources, including Navision, Trello, and others. The primary objective is to create a Jupyter Notebook that automates the compilation and analysis of our cost and promotional data, ensuring accurate profitability calculations and margin assessments for various promotions and customer accounts.

Project Scope:
Data Compilation: Automate the compilation of active costs from our Cost Database, integrating current promo costs based on specific criteria from our Promo Database.
Criteria Matching: Ensure the tool accurately matches dates and customer numbers between the Cost and Promo Databases to compile relevant data.
Profitability Calculations: Implement formulas to calculate the profitability of each promotion, accounting for specific deduction percentages by account and exceptions for certain calculations.
Margin Goal Assessment: Incorporate functionality to assess promo goals against active SKUs from a manually compiled Margin Goal Tab.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with our team to understand detailed project requirements and data sources.
Design and implement a Jupyter Notebook that automates data compilation, analysis, and reporting based on specified criteria.
Ensure the tool can handle data from various internal sources, including Navision and Trello, with the flexibility to add more sources in the future.
Develop clear documentation for the tool, including setup, operation, and maintenance instructions.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong portfolio of similar automation projects.
Expertise in Python, especially in Jupyter Notebook development.
Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, and integrating data from multiple sources.
Familiarity with business management tools like Navision and project management tools like Trello.
Knowledge of data analysis and reporting, with the ability to implement complex formulas and calculations within the automation tool.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the project team.
