Build a website function to find closest address by zip code

My client is a medical device company. We have a website for patients and want to develop a feature that lets patients search for the closest doctor to them based on their zip code.

Patients will input their zip code and the function needs to query our internal physician database to find the closest 5 physicians to their zip code.

The backend work to be developed is an API to query the database. The frontend is a basic form fill and a table list.
