Job Description:
We are seeking a Junior Legal Associate who is eager to develop their legal expertise in a supportive and dynamic startup environment. This entry-level position is ideal for recent law school graduates or individuals with some legal education and a keen interest in intellectual property and contract law.
Responsibilities:
Intellectual Property Assistance:
Help prepare and file copyright and trademark applications for our product designs and branding materials.
Assist in monitoring and reporting on potential infringements and advising on enforcement actions.
Contract Assistance:
Review contracts with suppliers and distributors under supervision, highlighting key terms and potential issues.
Help draft simple agreements and standard contracts using templates.
Compliance Support:
Research and summarize compliance requirements for new products and business initiatives.
Support the team in ensuring that business practices adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
General Legal Support:
Maintain and organize legal documents in a secure and accessible system.
Prepare briefs, draft responses, and assemble documentation for legal proceedings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or currently enrolled in a law school.
Basic understanding of copyright and trademark law.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Motivated to learn and grow in a legal role within a startup environment.
Work Arrangement:
This is a remote, part-time position to start, with the potential to increase hours as the company grows.
