The Position:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Drupal programmer with a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry to join our team on a freelance basis. As a Drupal programmer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining custom Drupal-based websites and applications tailored specifically for clients in the pharmaceutical sector. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely, with a preference for candidates located in the East Coast time zone.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with our team to understand project requirements and objectives, with a strong emphasis on pharmaceutical projects
• Develop custom Drupal modules and themes from scratch, tailored to the unique needs of each project
• Customize and extend existing Drupal functionality as needed, ensuring that all solutions are bespoke and tailored to client requirements
• Take ownership of projects and build custom sites, avoiding reliance on templates or pre-built solutions
• Perform site updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting with meticulous attention to detail
• Ensure code quality, performance, and security best practices are adhered to at all times
• Stay up-to-date with Drupal updates, trends, and best practices within the pharmaceutical industry
Requirements:
• Proficient in Drupal development, including Drupal 7 and/or Drupal 8/9
• Strong PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery skills
• Experience with MySQL or other relational databases
• Ability to build custom sites from scratch without relying on templates or pre-built solutions
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Availability during East Coast business hours preferred
Nice to Have:
• Previous experience working within the pharmaceutical industry or related fields
• Experience with Drupal theming using Twig
• Knowledge of Drupal API integration and third-party services
• Familiarity with other CMS platforms and frameworks
• Experience with responsive and mobile-first web development
• Contributions to the Drupal community (modules, patches, etc.)
