My client ("PK") is a turnkey kitchen cabinet company for multifamily developers. They start with an architect's blueprints and handle the cabinet responsibilities all of the way through installation. PK orders custom cabinets & imports them from a manufacturer in Asia--cabinets are ready to assemble (RTA) on pallets, e.g. one pallet = one kitchen's RTA cabinets. We would like to optimize the ordering and receiving (checking accuracy/issues) cabinets process to be efficient and repeatable, so that new hires have a short learning curve and existing managers can delegate this process to others. Our third-party logistics partners already track the cabinets at sea on container ships and in trucks to our warehouse, so we are focused more on what happens after they arrive at our warehouse: unloading them (checking against the order list), storing them in the warehouse, and eventually dropping them off at the apartment complex job site for the installer team. We want the process to be easy for everyone. We would love for a freelancer with experience in warehouse systems using barcode readers to help us choose a barcode+software provider with a good process in mind and potentially help us implement into our excel-based work flow (we can do the excel part).
