About the Role: We seek a dynamic and organized Events Marketing Coordinator to join our team for a part-time, seasonal contract position. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful promotion, design, and execution of our monthly member events and two signature summer events: the BWB Family Reunion and Boston While Black: The Vineyard Edition. You will wear two hats – project manager and executor – overseeing all aspects of event marketing and ensuring a seamless experience for attendees. Responsibilities: Event Promotion: - Develop comprehensive marketing plans for BWB events. - Craft engaging social media content to promote events across various platforms. - Manage email marketing campaigns for event registration and promotion. - Coordinate media outreach to secure local press coverage. Event Design & Production: - Collaborate with designers to create visually appealing event branding materials. - Oversee signage production for event locations. - Manage the selection and procurement of event décor, ensuring it aligns with the overall event theme. - Work with external vendors on photo/video services to capture event highlights. Project Management & Execution: - Develop detailed marketing timelines and budgets for each event. - Manage and delegate tasks to internal BWB team members. - Oversee the hiring and communication with external contractors (e.g., designers, videographers). - Ensure all tasks are completed on time and within budget. - Track and analyze event metrics to measure success. - Develop a detailed shot list and content capture plan for each event and ensure critical content is captured and stored. Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of experience in event marketing or a related field. - Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. - Proficient in social media marketing and content creation. - Experience with graphic design principles (a plus). - Familiarity with event budgeting and vendor management is preferred. - Passion for the BWB mission and a commitment to creating enriching experiences for the Black community in Boston. - Display an understanding of culturally relevant storytelling and narrative building.
