We are seeking individuals with advanced expertise in AI and its application to cybersecurity, particularly focusing on neural networks, high-performance computing (HPC), and other advanced data science technologies, frameworks, models, systems, human-machine interfaces, or applications. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will be expected to possess extensive knowledge and experience in AI and Machine Learning (ML) technologies, coupled with an extensive background in cybersecurity. Applicants in this role will participate in a series of workshops to design hiring assessment material, such as interviews and knowledge tests that will determine the proficiency of candidates. Some of the responsibilities of the AI SMEs will include: • Attend orientation and training meetings. • Attend and contribute to content development workshops. • Participate in regular and/or ad hoc status meetings. • Formulate and draft assessment scenarios (includes desk work or “homework” outside of workshop hours). • Write assessment items relevant to scenarios and specific technical capabilities and competencies. • Complete competency coverage and difficulty ratings on assessment items. • Revise scenarios and items based on feedback. The type of technical skills that we are looking for include: • Machine Learning Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in various machine learning techniques (e.g., supervised learning, unsupervised learning, anomaly detection) for analyzing cybersecurity data to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activities. • Data Science Proficiency: Ability to understand, clean, and prepare large datasets for AI models, including network traffic logs, threat intelligence feeds, and security incidents. • Cloud Computing Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud-based AI platforms such as Google Cloud AI Platform, Amazon SageMaker, or Microsoft Azure AI for training, deploying, and managing AI models. • Security Expertise: In-depth understanding of cybersecurity principles, attack vectors, and mitigation strategies to interpret AI findings and make informed security decisions. • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, R, or Java for model development and data analysis, with knowledge of specific security-focused libraries being advantageous. Qualifications: • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, required. Must be able to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences. • Advanced degrees and/or publications in relevant fields preferred. • U.S. citizenship required.
