We have a dedicated Windows Server 2022 VM running SQL Server 2019 Standard. The server has 250G of RAM. According to Performance Monitor, only 160G is in use. However, we see the following repeatedly in the SQL Server event log: "A significant part of sql server process memory has been paged out. This may result in a performance degradation. Duration: 288011 seconds. Working set (KB): 560004, committed (KB): 2753428, memory utilization: 20%." To summarize: Duration: 80 hrs. Working Set: 560M Committed Memory: 2.7G. Those numbers don’t make sense to us. Why would the working set and committed memory be so low for so long, and yet there’s a ton of fee memory? Note that there are many other databases on the server that never throw errors, but they are in the default instance. The errors above are for a database that was deployed in a named instance. We need someone to figure out why we're getting these messages and what we can do about it.
