This job is to create attractive book formatting with some design elements (in B&W) that match the niche and branding. An NDA must be signed, after accepting the job. The job is for one book consisting of approx. 56k words. There are no images within the manuscript that I will provide. However, the book formatting expert is encouraged to create imagery to accent the formatted book. This book will need to be formatting digitally and paperback print, both meeting the Amazon KDP requirements. The manuscript I provide will include front matter and back matter, which needs to be retained in both formats. All formats must have a table of contents created by the expert formatting specialist, which links to the start of each chapter. The digital book will include an image for the front cover and an image for back cover - both will be provided at the start of the job, when the manuscript is also provided. The paperback print format must have a right-hand read for the table of contents, as well as for the start of each chapter. (If you have any questions, please ask). The final work needs to be completed within 7 days, unless an extension is approved. A sample of a couple of pages is required before completing the formatting for the entire book. The sample must be approved, so we don’t have miscommunication regarding the final project. This is the 1st book in a 10 book series. The report will serve as a valuable, free-to-access resource, aligning with our established brand book. Observer Research Foundation America (ORF America) is an independent, non-partisan public policy institute based in Washington DC. It is an overseas affiliate of the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), India’s premier non-government think tank. ORF America is looking for a freelance layout artist to supplement our capacity for the layout of our Background Paper series, for situations when we have overflow. These publications are 12 pages, with between 2,000-3,000 words in the body, often with multiple infographics, charts, or figures. They also include a cover image and footnotes. We require a designer who can layout the full report starting from an uploaded Word Document and transitioning to a finished .pdf fileset within five business days of the job posting.
