Asterisk configuration guru
I'm running the Windows version of Asterisk.
I need help configuring asterisk on Windows XP Pro SP3 using the windoze version of asterisk.
I've got a simple residential cable connection from my ISP. My normal phone service is also provided by them. My 10 year old plain, ordinary nothing special phone plugs into the box they provided. I get a dynamic IP address, I have no domain of my own.
I have installed cygwin and AsteriskWin32.
I want something very simple. My calls come in on two different phone numbers, and are routed to my SIP provider -iptel.org- who then routes them to me over the Net. I want to take either of those two, or other incoming calls (when I add more DIDs), and route as follows.
First, I want to have the option of answering the call myself through my softphone running on the same server as Asterisk - at the moment I'm using jitsi. That currently works without Asterisk.
Should I not answer, I'd like it routed back to the Net, to someone elsewhere in the world also using jitsi. Should they not answer, it might go to a third person if available or end up in voicemail. I would also like an extra dozen extensions prepared for later use.
Each DID gets routed to a different extension. The purpose is to have one set of agents (call them Team A) answering calls from one DID, and Team B answering calls from a different DID. Each DID represents a different business.
Outgoing calls.are to be routed through google talk. These calls can come either from the asterisk server itself where jitsi also resides, or from agents dialing out from elsewhere in the world, coming into asterisk from over the Net.
This is an easy job for someone that knows what he's doing. Perhaps 15-30 minutes worth of work, certainly well under an hour. If you need to “figure it out”, then you're not the right person for the job. The right person will say to himself “I know exactly how to do that.”
You will build the configuration files and email them to me. I will test them. You will include detailed comments in the files that explain the purpose of each line - why you have included it.
