We are a growing Online Marketing firm that is looking to employ a part-time On-page SEO Specialist. Here are things we would need this specialist to do:
1) Optimize page load times using the Google Page Speed Tools located at https://developers.google.com/spee
2) Optimize Meta data (title tags, alt tags, headers, etc) using the keyword strategy that we provide using current best practices (being mindful of Google's recent over-optimization penalty).
3) Use of canonical URL's
4) 301 redirects when needed (for example, if a site is moving)
5) Fixing instances of duplicate page content across a domain. If you want to stand out from your competition, define duplicate page content. I guarantee 90% of people that apply for this position will get this wrong.
6) Fixing HTML errors
Most of the sites we work with are in WordPress. We use the Joast SEO plugin. In these cases, you'd be using this to configure meta data, robots.txt, and sitemap.xml. Prior use and advanced skill with the Joast SEO plugin would be essential to this position!
SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY! This is a part-time position but with a long duration. I would expect this position to offer an average of 10-15 hours per week, but the right candidate could work for us for 1-2 years or more. Please check my employer profile. We have excellent feedback and we are great to work for.
Independent contractors are preferred, but agencies will be considered under exceptional circumstances.
Please do not apply if you have feedback less than 4.5, as you will be wasting both of our time.
ONE FINAL THING...if you did not read this job description you completely wasted your time applying. I have personally been doing all of the things I mentioned above for years. If your reply to this posting is not customized to address our requirements, I can assure you it will be immediately deleted and ignored.
To those of you that read this and applied to this job with sincerity, thank you very much.
