Ongoing Full Time Content Writer - 20+ Hours/Week
Closed - This job posting has been filled and work has been completed.
Hi, my name is Adrian and I am an internet marketer who has paid over 4,000 hours on oDesk with a total 4.99 out of 5.00 rating. I like to work with driven individuals on a full-time basis whenever possible.
We are looking for another full-time content writer who can write articles of approximately 250 to 400 words on a range of topics on an ongoing basis as well as publish these articles to Wordpress based sites.
You would need to be able to commit to writing at least 20 hours a week though there is also an opportunity to work more hours per week in the future if desired.
Most of us on the team presently work 10am - 7pm (Filipino time) Monday to Friday, so it would be preferred if applicants were willing to work regular hours at a similar time of day as the rest of the team (though is not required).
Here are some examples of some of the articles produced:
As previously mentioned you will also be required to published content onto sites using Wordpress. So experience with using Wordpress, a basic understanding of SEO and ability to do keyword research would be preferred.
Our expectation is that you complete one article every hour in shifts of 4 hours each day. The good news is that we are very organised and have tutorial videos running through the entire process of creating our specific types of articles. An article takes on average 45 minutes to create and we allocate a 15 minute buffer to each hour (if you finish early go have a cup of tea and relax, we'll still pay you the full hour).
However I am all about consistent quality and review every article published under our banner.
Other tasks that you may be asked to complete outside of your primary role as a content writer include doing basic information collection and research. Proficiency in these tasks isn't required and can be taught, but experience with them would be preferred.
Those applying must have excellent English writing skills and a comprehensive understanding of English vocabulary, spelling, grammar and sentence structure (preferably UK English). We would also strongly prefer applicants with previous oDesk experience in content writing and using Wordpress.
Potential candidates will need to complete a paid trial (5 hours of work) as well as short 15 minute video interview on skype before they'd be hired on an ongoing basis.
The position is available now and we are looking to have it filled by the end of next week. The hiring process will include a review of all applicants in two days time followed by offering a paid trial to a short list of candidates followed by a Skype interview early-mid next week of those that completed the paid trial to a satisfactory standard. The final decision will be made sometime late next week and the chosen candidate will be expected to begin work straight away. Please notify me in your application if this timeframe does not suit.
In regards to pay rate, we are looking for a writer that offers great value for money. So a writer that can produce both high quality and a large quantity of articles at a hourly rate that offers good value is what we are looking for. So pay rate will be a factor in our hiring decision, but it won't be the only factor.
If you are interested in the position please answer the following questions in your application (please include the question above each of your responses in your application):
How much experience do you have that's related to the above job requirements?
How do you normally go about writing articles?
Do you use any strategies/methods to improve your effectiveness when it comes to writing?
What software do you have access and experience with and use for your writing?
How many hours are your currently working per week? and how many hours do you have available to work per week?
How do you prefer to keep in contact with your employers normally?
Will you be able to complete a paid trial which may include up to 5 hours of work in the next couple of days?
Do you have any further questions about this position or the business?
