Platorm migration to amazon cloud
Closed - This job posting has been filled and work has been completed.
We are a startup in the travel area facing increasing performance issues on our website and backend processes due the success of our service and the growing numbers of our users.
At the moment, almost all the components of the platform are hosted in a dedicated server infrastructure and we are moving everything into the cloud to be able to scale horizontaly. We chose Amazon Web Services because some parts of our services are already hosted there.
We deal with ** A LOT ** of data (essentially meta informations on photos) and our database grows by several Gigabytes of data everyday. We also have high-availability issues because our backup procedure can't run as it should.
We are looking for a database specialist with STRONG knowledge of :
- Linux Administration (Security, Network, Scripting, system monitoring)
- amazon web services (EC2, S3, ElastiCache, CloudFront...)
- High-availability and load balancing (data sharding, replication ...)
The migration is estimated to last 3 to 4 weeks. There might be a possibility to define a long term contract at the end of the project, based on our future needs and depending on the success of our collaboration on the migration process.
Contractors: please provide detailed experiences of projects you've worked on that match our needs.
Skills: linux, shell-scripting
