Senior Systems Cloud Administrator

We are looking for a top-notch Systems Cloud Administrator to join our team in support of our company’s flagship enterprise search product. Candidates must have experience with large-scale server infrastructure, including security monitoring and escalation procedures. This will be a full-time position.

The ideal candidate will have maintained application and database servers in a highly-available production environment, as well as stay current with new concepts and methods. The candidate should also be capable of working with production, business and other technology team members locally and overseas to deliver world class solutions.


• Configuration and management of Linux/RedHat virtual systems and networking devices
• Monitor and tune infrastructure to assure optimal performance, availability and utilization of resources
• Respond to alerts to quickly identify trouble source and implement resolutions
• Provide support and trouble-shooting to resolve issues impacting application operations
• Responsible for new infrastructure, install and configure middleware and vendor application software to build new environments
• Maintaining tools to aid in automation of alerting, monitoring, and deployment (Nagios, Cacti, New Relic, etc.)
• Design and develop scripts to automate manual tasks related to operations and maintenance and deployment (CHEF, Puppet, etc.)
• Developing, implementing, deploying, and supporting advanced virtualization and data storage strategies
• Solid Linux fundamentals including networking, file systems, security, and kernel
• Solid knowledge of Virtualization, NFS, NIS, NAS/SAN*s.
• Working knowledge of distributed file systems (NFS, GlusterFS)
• Cross-functional experience in networking, SANs, load balancing, and databases (MongoDB, SOLR)
• Solid knowledge of protocols such as: HTTP, SMTP, SNMP, DNS
• Solid knowledge of LVM, SAN, NAS, RAID
• Knowledgeable in TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, IPSEC
• Monitoring service stability and end to end performance tuning
• Troubleshooting / support of growing web presence in different data centers throughout the world
• Build new systems, Install images/base systems, manage datacenters
• Systems updates and Maintenance
• VPN configuration/administration
• Systems and network security
• Familiarity with deploying Java software (tomcat/war), NODE.js, MongoDB, NGINX/HAProxy
• Knowledge of deployment architecture and environments (instancing, clustering, failover) of typical J2EE middleware platforms
• Software Build and Release (RPM)
• Previous experience with Sarbanes-Oxley and compliance
• Engineering and deploying releases, enhancements, and upgrades or new applications throughout non-production and production environments
• Ability to work with outsourced technology partners based in multiple, global locations
• Experience in similar roles at prominent Internet companies, with understanding of scaling issues.
• Solid scripting experience (Perl, Python, or Ruby), including large-scale tools that support the day-to-day operations of a service delivery platform

Minimum Educational Level
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5+ years of experience working in system administration with at least 3+ years working high traffic, public facing production environment
• 3- 4 years Linux administration (RedHat, Fedora, Centos )
• Tomcat 5/6, Java 2 EE
• Shell scripts
• Load balancing, High Availability
