I have built a multisite but I would like to modify the way databases work. I need to achieve two things:
1. In one multisite installation separate the databases of each of the subdomains/websites I create in it.
2. Connect the databases of two subdomains which belong in different networks.
In more detail:
I have two multisite installations:
The first one is a multisite/network under the subdomain deals.domain.com. In that installation I'm going to create deals websites for each of my clients (I'm using a theme and plugin for that). The structure will be like this:
Main domain: deals.domain.com
Subdomains: city1.deals.domain.com, city2.deals.domain.com, etc.
Required change: As each website belong to one client I want the databases to be separate and don't interfere with each other.
The second installation is a multisite under the subdomain bbpress.domain.com. In that installation I'm going to create buddypress websites for each of my clients. The structure will be like this:
Main domain: bbpress.domain.com
Sunddomains: city1.bbpress.domain,com, city2.bbpress.domain.com, etc.
Required change: I need the users to be shared across city1.deals.domain.com and city1.bbpress.domain.com. As these two websites belong to one clients I need the users to be able to login using the same credentials in both websites and to remain logged in when they move from one website to another.
Please let me know if you need more details.
